There is no better feeling than the wind against my face.
The weather lately has been perfect, thanks to Frances.
I've been spending the last days of summer in my room, with the windows wide open. The trees are dancing to the sound of the wind. It's quite lovely.
I don't want to leave this behind.

I am off to New York City tomorrow, then school.

joyeux anniversaire à moi

My sister and I celebrated our birthday today. I turned 19, she 15. I find it rather amazing how we share the same birthday and we're not even twins. I think we're two in a million, even a billion perhaps.

We're going to blow out our candles this weekend. Therefore, I have some time to think about what I'll wish for.

I want this wish to be special.

Looking out the window brings pain to my eyes;

I'm unable to revel in the gorgeous weather due to a workload that makes me want to pull out my hair. But in the end, sacrifice will be worth it.

In the meantime, I'm going to fill my room with the sounds of Air and think about the summer that's a mere six weeks away...

This summer, I want to learn French (in Paris would be nice). I would also like to learn how to play the piano (especially Chopin's Impromptu Op. 66 No.4 in C-sharp). I want to paint at least one painting and I want to read Tolstoy's Anna Karenina and/or War and Peace.

AIR!

I saw Air in Boston last night.
It was one of the best auditory experiences of my life.

Words cannot express how incredible, amazing, and mind-blowing the show was. I had chills running up my spine; it was that good.

Being only a foot or two from the stage, I was able to look directly into the eyes of the Air boys and directly above me, there was this cool airy breeze that made everything perfect even more perfect...

...and the show was concluded beautifully with La Femme d'Argent.

[Error: Irreparable invalid markup ('<img [...] 300">') in entry.
Tonight, I was in France with Lisa...well, not physically but mentally.

with wine, a baguette, gourmet cheese, and French jazz one can be instantly transported to the City of Light.

and now I'm listening to Billie Holiday (while lamenting the loss of my iPod).
jazz puts me in a good mood. the genre of music makes me dream.

i dream about the future.
i dream about the day i move into a shoebox-sized apartment in an enormous city in a 1950's Greenwich Village-esque area, an area in which avant-garde artists, writers, and musicians congegrate and thrive.

i'd spend my days exploring the city, frequenting jazz clubs, making art and just enjoying life.

That would be ideal.
