 | 02:17 am I have an iMac I got in Sept. 2008. Does anyone know how many GB they were supposed to come with? I paid about $2,000 for it through the computer store in my school. I am trying to figure out how much space I've taken up because I am considering getting an external hard drive for my music. Does anyone here think that would work?

 | 11:26 pm - help with syncing Hi, I'm having a bit of a problem with my 80 GB video iPod... my computer crashed a few weeks ago, so I basically had to reboot my computer, wiped of everything. I had all of my songs on a hard drive so I re-downloaded iTunes and transferred them over. But now when I am trying to put new music from my iTunes onto my iPod, it isn't syncing or recognizing any new music, I guess. Can someone help me? I would appreciate it so much!

 | 04:08 pm - history majors past and present history alums and current history majors:
what sort of job do you have now (or are you planning on pursuing)? Everyone always assumes a history major is going to become a teacher or go to law school, but i know there are other options- but what are they? I'm really curious to find out how history majors and degree holders are applying their skills and passion for history.

 | 11:09 am - How much for an old mac? I might be finally replacing my old PowerBook G4 (that has served me well for quite time) with a new MacBook Pro in upcoming weeks and someone has already expressed interest in my old machine (they don't need it to do any heavy work with heavy software). So, can anyone tell me how much a PB with the following specs sells for (at least an aprox.)?
PowerBook G4 15" 1.25GHz 1GB RAM 150HD Super Drive Leopard + brand new battery
Thanks in advance! :)

 | 05:40 pm EDIT: solved, thanks for the fast reply! And here I was going through pages and pages of Terminal command line suggestions
Hey all.
My dad just bought and booted up a brand-new 27" iMac running 10.6. He says the hard drive doesn't show up in the finder or on the desktop.
Any solutions? I've looked through Macrumors forums, etc., but I haven't found conclusive solutions. He needs it for a presentation with his clients early tomorrow so hopefully nothing too experimental or reboot-happy, but any advice is welcome.

 | 04:10 pm - Phones in Spain <input ... ></input><input ... > I'm an American going to do a study abroad in Spain. All the deals I can find for international phones seem to be ridiculous rates, except for Vonage and then I'd have to buy an iPhone. What are the best options for mobile/cellular phones in Spain and where can I get them? (i.e. before I leave, in the Spanish airport?)
I'll be there for five months, so i don't want to sign a contract, and I do plan on mostly using Skype for international calls.

 | 04:57 pm Hi all,
I'm a current business student in Canada and I'm thinking about applying to NYU (Stern) for Fall of 2010.
If any of you are out of country students, I was wondering if you have any advice as far as preparation. I know it's a broad request and that the NYU website has all the information I need. I just want to know what steps you took to get to where you are now and WHY you wanted to go to this particular school out of country.

 | 02:19 pm - Snow Leopard
Those of you who have upgraded to 10.6, do you feel it's more stable, less stable than or about as stable as the most recent 10.5 builds?
I am thinking about upgrading, but have heard conflicting info. about crashes, graphical errors, etc.
On Apple's own Web site, 10.6 is only rated 3 stars out of 5, and from what I can tell, the complaints seem to center around stability issues.
Edit: Thanks, dudes.

 | 11:32 pm - Lumos Font and OS X I installed the free font Lumos, which is essentially the font for the Harry Potter books. (My son's having a Harry Potter birthday party and I'm making the invitations.) The font appears in Font Book, but not in any applications. Yes, I closed the applications before installing the font. The font file is in the proper place. It's a .ttf font. When I validate the font, I get three minor problems: hhea table structure name table structure Duplicate fonts
I figured out that my computer thinks the font name is actually "New" which was the presumed name of another font (the name of which is actually Purr). I'm guessing the font creator didn't name the font properly. By eliminating Purr, I can now use Lumos as "New". Is there some way to change the font information so Lumos is Lumos? (And at some point, I'd like to use Purr again too.)
Thanks! Current Location: home, Antioch, CA Current Mood: annoyed
